Posted On: February 04, 2009 11:15:16 PM Name: Sgt. Harry H Ramsey Email: helenlmr@aol.com Comments: I am looking for anyone who was with H&S Co, on 2 Feb 1968, who was on or escorted A Co's R-1 when it hit a command detonated mine outside of Da Nang Marble Mountain. I got hit with scrap metal on my left wrist which I received stitches for. The Corpman that stitched me up was killed by a sniper shortly after this happened, I have nothing in my records on this event or my injury. Sgt. Kehres was the only other person from A Co on the tractor. He was thrown from the tractor when it hit the mine. He received 2 ruptured eardrums, and back injuries, he was medivaced to a hospital in Da Nang. I have statements from Sgt Kehres, and from Maj. Gen R.E. Haebel, retired, and Sgt. J. Culver. The only statement that was accepted was the one from Sgt. Kehres as he was the only eyewitness, the other two saw me when I was back at the base. The Marine Corp says I need 2 more eyewitness statements. I am hoping someone out there either remembers this event, or knows someone who might. Please contact me if you can help. My e-mail if helenlmr@aol.com or call collect 814-899-0565. I have been trying for this Purple Heart for around 40 years, and have been turned down 4 times. Thanks to anyone who may be able to help, Sincerely Sgt. Harry Ramsey

I over-reacted in my anger at the other veteran. Roy runs a honest, fair, and friendly website for veterans. His work is an obvious "Labor of Love." I am sorry for disparaging his effort. Please enjoy his work and his website. Sincerely, Michael Hoskins

The DMZ story was extracted from my book, which is copyrighted. I can only assume Jerry Kline had something to do with this. Please remove the story from your site immediately and contact me via email about the article. I can prove I wrote it, it is part of a book I have that will shortly be published. Thank you...

Posted On: October 17, 2008 09:55:31 PM Name: Tim Converse Comments: I can't edit my post so this is to add: The Captain stepped on the mine in I think December of 1967. A driver refused to take his trac through a spot where they had already lost several tracs. The Captain got off and was going to lead the trac through the area. He triggered a very big mine.
