I apologize that I only just now have seen it. Regarding Pastor Hodges' comment, he has never taught that the SDA church is Babylon. He has always believed it to be Laodicea. His post on your web site was to show that is it in the Laodicean condition and what a terrible condition that is. He has often said, like you have said, "May we repent, and follow Christ to the cross." I am a former member of Verne Bates teleconference discussions on Sabbath. Because my membership is no longer in the organization, I need fellowship. Vern asked me, my sister, Art Abbot, and a few others to leave his group by changing the phone number access code and not giving it to us. He did it because a few of us were getting together by telephone on Sabbath afternoons to discuss and study together and he feared that we were starting our own ministry and would soon ask for tithes, etc, so he did that. I think he was ok with our study until we got tired of calling one person and then on our 2nd line calling another person who had 2 lines who did the same until we were linked together. so we got a teleconference line, free and that was what worried him. He said that we were stealing people from his group for "our" line. Well that has been at least a year and we have no hard feelings but feel he did not handle things right. we tried to follow scripture directions by going to him, etc and he would not. We have a teleconference line that we get together and study and read the original books on Sabbath morning.
